Do wallet cases damage phone screens?

Dear all,

Maybe this is a silly question ... but I'd like to know.

By wallet case I mean a case which covers the entire phone, with a 'flap' that goes over the phone screen.

Wallet cases hold credit cards on the inside of the 'flap'. The cards will be mostly inside a pocket, but an edge of the credit card will be sticking out, and may touch the phone screen.

Can a credit card over time damage the phone screen, by making abrasions on the screen because the edge of the card keeps...
