First time posting - Xiaomi Red Mi 3 - Can't send group texts

Phone – Xiaomi Red Mi 3 (Got it from gearbest)
OS - Android 5.1 (Lollipop)
Service – Tmobile
Texting App – Textra

I've had the phone for 1.5 years, right from the beginning group texting was a hassle because it would send group messages individually to everyone. Came across Textra texting app and everything was working well. Recently in the past 2months, I can't send/receive group messages, all pictures for individuals texts take forever and fail most of the time.
