GL G4 pixel and black out.

Hi, my names Rebecca I'm new to the online advice experience, but here goes. My sons GL G4 phone has a problem it pixelates and then fades to black . Most of the time you can see nothing but in the dark, you can just make out what's on the screen. I have been told by two repair people it is a soft wear problem.I have soft and hard rebooted his phone neither fixed the problem. Does anyone have any advice?
