Issues with my Oneplus 3t

I've had my oneplus 3t (bought used off ebay) for about a month and a half and I've run into some problems that I'd like help with.
1. Wifi connection, recently the phone frequently tries to connect to the wifi - fails - then promptly turns it off- only to turn wifi on again and fail again and this loop continues until the wifi scanner doesn't turn off again or it finally connects but speeds are strange in that the symbol in the quick settings doesn't match the one in the status bar.
