Best phone for the money?

I am in the US so everything I say is in US dollars, US versions, etc.

I purchased the Motorola X Pure as soon as it came out and was happy with it but lately it has had a lot of issues particularly with GPS. It works fine 90% of the time but that 10% of the time it says "Searching for GPS" while navigating and have caused me lots of problems with missing turns, etc while traveling out of town. Also it is very laggy switching between apps and even just surfing the web. I don't really play...
