folder show empty even if it contain image

yesterday i transfer DCIM folder of android mobile to my laptop through pen drive via OTG cable. when today i open folder its show empty. not a single photos there in folder and earlier its contain almost 1000 images. i checked properties of folder and also its show 0 KB. i again check pendrive and mobile but there is no sign of folder. i try to recoverd photos through data recovery software but it didnt work.
p.s. i think my pen drive is infected but not sure
tell me how can i recovered...
