[P9 Lite]No birthdays in calendar

As stated in my introduction, I'm (since two day) the proud owner of a Huawei P9 Lite. I only have a little bit of experience with Android, mostly with a tablet that I use at occasion to browse the web and for navigation.

I have a gmail account but it's not used for emailing and only contains myself as a contact (google probably added that one day for me, no idea ).

I have (manually ) moved all my contacts over to the new phone and added birthdays to some of them. Those birthdays...
