Can I force optimised apps (Snapchat) back to 16:9 on my Galaxy s8+?

Hi,
Snapchat on my Galaxy s8+ is less than great, with the photos turning out worse than I hoped given that this is supposed to be one of if not the best camera out there. This is especially present while using the front facing camera with really zoomed in photos and crap resolution. The app is already optimised for 18.5:9 but I want to change it back to 16:9. I read that changing the aspect ratio back to 16:9 will fix the camera problems. I tried this but since its already optimised it wont...
